Public Comment Now Open on Draft Removal Action Work Plan (RAW) for the Union Pacific Railroad Beverly Hills Site

Beverly Hills, CA (September 30, 2020) – The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) is seeking public comment on the draft Removal Action Work Plan (RAW) and the California Environmental Quality Act Initial Study/Negative Declaration (CEQA IS/ND) for the Union Pacific Railroad site from now until October 22, 2020.

These environmental documents have been submitted by Union Pacific Railroad to address the soil contamination cleanup alternatives at the 5-acre site known as Lots 12 and 13, located at 9101 to 9350 S. Santa Monica Blvd. and 9100 to 9349 Civic Center Drive in Beverly Hills. The site was utilized as a railroad right-of-way from 1926 until 1998.

The City of Beverly Hills has contracted with Lindmark Engineering to peer review the draft plan and submit comments to the DTSC on behalf of the City.
